Meet the new Oyo State ADC Chairman:

HON. AFEES ADELOWO JIMOH (ONAARA) EMERGES OYO STATE ADC CHAIRMAN AT STATE CONGRESS

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Oyo State Chapter, is pleased to formally announce the emergence of Hon. Afeez Adelowo Jimoh (Onaara) as the duly elected State Chairman of the Party, following a successful and well-attended State Congress held at Watershed, Old Ife Road, Ibadan.

The Congress, which witnessed the convergence of party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates from across the 33 Local Government Areas of the State, was conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and democratic atmosphere, reaffirming the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and inclusive leadership.

Hon. Jimoh, a seasoned technocrat and accomplished public servant, brings to the saddle a wealth of experience spanning engineering, legislative governance, and public administration. He holds a Master’s degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering and began his professional career as a Broadcasting Engineer with Voice of Nigeria, where he served meritoriously between 1996 and 2006.

His foray into active politics saw him elected as a Member of the Oyo State House of Assembly (2007–2011), after which he was elected to represent his constituency in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015. During his tenure at the National Assembly, he also served as a Member of the Governing Council of the National Institute of Legislative Studies, contributing to legislative capacity development at the national level.

Hon. Jimoh further demonstrated his political coordination and grassroots mobilization strength as Campaign Director for Oyo North in the 2019 gubernatorial election. He later served as Chairman of the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State between 2020 and 2022, where he played a significant role in facilitating access to agricultural financing and rural economic development.

His emergence as the Oyo State ADC Chairman marks a new chapter for the party, as members and stakeholders express strong confidence in his leadership capacity, strategic vision, and ability to reposition the party for greater electoral success in the forthcoming political engagements.

The ADC in Oyo State assures all members, supporters, and the general public of a renewed commitment to building a formidable, people-oriented political platform that prioritizes good governance, inclusivity, and sustainable development.
