Market leaders from the Ibadan South Local Government and Ibadan South Local Council Development Area (LCDA) paid a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Political Head/Administrator of Ibadan South LCDA, Hon. Teslim Adekunle Ogundeji, at the council secretariat.


The visit, led by the Chairman of the Market Leaders Forum, Mr. Nurudeen Kola Busari, aimed to formally introduce the newly constituted leadership of various markets under the Ibadan South LG and LCDA jurisdictions and to foster collaboration with the council authority.
The delegation, which included both male (Babaloja) and female (Iyaloja) market leaders, was coordinated and introduced by the General Secretary of the Market Leaders Forum, Prince Adeyemi Akanni Ojo. In his address, Ojo introduced notable figures including Chief Mrs. Mosobalaje Balikis (Otun Iyaloja), Elder Sunday Ogunlana (Otun Babaloja, Owode Academy), and other ranking market officials.

Opening prayers were offered by Alfa Ismael Akande, setting a solemn tone for the visit.


In their remarks, the market leaders expressed gratitude to Hon. Ogundeji for welcoming them warmly and granting audience to their delegation. Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr. Busari, Chief Mrs. Mosobalaje, Alfa Akande, and Prince Ojo appealed to the council for the establishment of a dedicated secretariat office for the market leaders in the Ibadan South East LG/LCDA axis.

They also used the occasion to appreciate Hon. Adigun Abass Agboworin, the Member representing Ibadan South East/Ibadan North East Federal Constituency, for consistently supporting traders through the office of the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alh. Chief Asiwaju Yekini Abass Oladapo (Alh. Y.K. Abass), whose messages and interventions have been impactful to the trading community.
In his response, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji thanked the delegation for their visit and goodwill. He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the unwavering support and trust of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE. He also appreciated the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East LG, Hon. Emmanuel Alawode, and the dedicated staff of the LCDA.

Hon. Ogundeji pledged to take the request for a market leaders’ secretariat to the appropriate quarters and assured the delegation of his commitment to improving the welfare of traders in the area.
He also placed a phone call during the meeting to Hon. Olayinka Omikunle, Member representing Ibadan South State Constituency, to further discuss initiatives for enhancing the lives of local traders.
Among the council officials present to receive the delegation were the Secretary to the LCDA, Mrs. Abosede Akanni, Director of Administration, Alhaji Moshood Ogundele, and the Administrative Officer, Mr. Femi.
A closing prayer and special intercession for Hon. Ogundeji were offered by Elder Sunday Ogunlana.
