…As Organization launches School Safety Initiative, trains officers on grassroots intelligence to combat insecurity nationwide.

The National Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, Adedamola Gbenga, has described the outgoing Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), Mr. Soji Eniade, as a man of honor and exemplary leadership whose tenure left an indelible mark on the organization.

Speaking during the official send-forth ceremony held in Mr. Eniade’s honor, Commander Gbenga commended the former DG for his dedication, innovation, and commitment to youth development and national service.

“We are celebrating a man of honor, and we do so with pride. We are proud to be associated with Mr. Soji Eniade and his remarkable achievements as the Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre,” Gbenga stated.

He noted that under Mr. Eniade’s leadership, the CLTC, which supervises Man O’ War activities nationwide, witnessed significant reforms and support that strengthened the organization’s capacity to deliver on its mandate.

Among his notable achievements, Mr. Eniade became the first Director-General to increase the financial stipend allocated to Man O’ War Nigeria from ₦150,000 to ₦300,000, a gesture that Gbenga said greatly boosted morale and operational efficiency.

Gbenga also highlighted Mr. Eniade’s personal involvement in Man O’ War activities, recalling how he often wore the Man O’ War uniform and participated in field events alongside members.

“He was the second Director-General who proudly identified with Man O’ War by putting on our uniform during our programs. His actions demonstrated solidarity and genuine commitment to our cause. His leadership style provided mentorship and encouragement to all of us,” he said.

On national security, Commander Gbenga expressed concern over the growing insecurity across the country but assured that Man O’ War Nigeria continues to support government efforts to ensure safety and peace.

He revealed that the organization has launched a School Safety Initiative, aimed at improving security in educational institutions across Nigeria.

“We have units coordinating our members in schools, from primary to tertiary levels, where Man O’ War cadets assist school managements in maintaining order and complementing security efforts,” he explained.

According to Gbenga, some members operate discreetly in mufti to gather intelligence and relay critical information to security agencies, helping to prevent security breaches and promote safer learning environments.

Gbenga urged Nigerian youths to embrace volunteerism, describing it as a vital tool for personal development and national progress.

“Volunteerism is the way forward in the 21st century. We encourage young people, especially those aspiring to careers in the military or paramilitary services, to join Man O’ War and contribute to nation-building,” he said.

Commander Gbenga concluded by reaffirming that Man O’ War remains one of the largest youth organizations in Africa, with a vast network across Nigeria and beyond, dedicated to fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism among young people.

In his remarks, The General Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, Southwest Region, Adeoye Ayoade, praised the outgoing Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), Mr. Soji Eniade, for his outstanding leadership and immense contributions to the growth and development of Man O’ War in Nigeria.

He described Mr Eniade as a visionary leader whose tenure marked a turning point in the organization’s history.

“Mr. Soji Eniade has been instrumental to the development we see today in Man O’ War,” Ayoade said. “It was during his tenure that Man O’ War rose to its present level of national relevance and recognition.”

He highlighted Mr. Eniade’s consistent support and close relationship with Man O’ War, noting that the former Director-General was never too far from the organization’s activities.

“He is a man who always sought the progress of Man O’ War. Anytime we had an event, he proudly identified with us by putting on our uniform. In terms of support and incentives, he always ensured that we got our fair share in the Centre’s programs,” he added.

Ayoade described Mr. Eniade as “a man worthy of celebration,” emphasizing that his humility, mentorship, and encouragement had left a lasting impact on both officers and members of the organization.

Turning his attention to leadership and legacy, the Southwest Commander urged members to always act with integrity and purpose.

“We must all remember that whatever we do today becomes history tomorrow,” he said. “Mr. Eniade spent four years as Director-General, and today we are celebrating him for his service. Let us all strive to live and lead in ways that will make us worthy of similar celebration when our time comes.”

On the issue of national security, Ayoade reaffirmed Man O’ War’s ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots intelligence and community safety across the Southwest region.

“We have already mandated all our officers and trained them on intelligence gathering,” he explained.

“They are to collect relevant information about security situations in their environments and feed such into the broader security architecture of their respective states. By doing this, we are contributing to curbing insecurity and promoting peace in our neighborhoods.”

Ayoade concluded by reiterating Man O’ War’s commitment to working alongside government and security agencies to ensure a safer, more secure society, while continuing to uphold the core values of discipline, leadership, and service that define the organization.

The celebrant, Mr. Adesoji Eniade, received high praise from several dignitaries who described him as a visionary leader and a dedicated public servant committed to excellence in administration and human capacity development.

The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs. Olubunmi Oni, lauded Mr. Eniade for his unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership qualities, noting that his contributions have left a lasting impact on the public service.

She noted that his selfless service and professionalism conduct have continued to inspire younger officers within the civil service.

According to her Eniade’s legacy of discipline and innovation remains a benchmark for effective public administration.

“Mr. Eniade has demonstrated what it truly means to lead with integrity, passion, and professionalism,” Mrs. Oni remarked.

“His tenure and continued involvement in public administration have inspired many within and beyond the service.”

Similarly, the Chairman of the occasion, CP Fatai Owoseni (rtd), who was represented by the Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd), commended Mr. Eniade for his dedication to organizational development and his exemplary record of service.

He described Mr Eniade as a visionary leader whose sense of duty and commitment to excellence have earned him respect across various sectors.

He added that such dedication to service is worthy of emulation by all public servants.

“Mr. Eniade’s leadership has been a model for others to emulate,” Major Adekoya stated on behalf of CP Owoseni.

“His professionalism and commitment to excellence have significantly contributed to the progress of the institutions he has served.”

While reacting to all the commendation, The outgoing Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), Mr. Adesoji Eniade, expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of Man O’ War Nigeria for organizing a send-forth ceremony in his honor, describing the gesture as both humbling and inspiring.

He said the celebration reaffirmed his belief in hard work, dedication, and service to the nation.

“When such things happen to you, you feel happy and elated. It strengthens your belief in yourself and in the fact that one can always do more in the service of the fatherland,” he said.

Mr. Eniade emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals who serve diligently, noting that acknowledgment of excellence in public service serves as motivation for others to emulate.

“Whenever officers serve diligently and leave the organization, such officers should be recognized and celebrated. It inspires others to know that if they work well and stay committed, their efforts too will be honored,” he added.

He commended the National Commander of Man O’ War Nigeria, Mr. Adedamola Gbenga, and the entire leadership of the organization for putting together the event, saying it was a testament to the strong bond between Man O’ War and the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre.

Addressing those still in active service, Mr. Eniade delivered a passionate message on the true meaning of public service and the values that sustain it.

“Service to the fatherland is a sacred call,” he stated. “Among millions of Nigerians, only a few are chosen to occupy certain positions. Many others may have better academic qualifications, but the opportunity to serve comes with the expectation of the highest level of performance, transparency, and dedication.”

He urged public servants to remain steadfast, even when their efforts appear unnoticed, stressing that true service is ultimately recognized by both people and providence.

“Those who are still serving should put in their best and work as if no one is watching, because in reality, many are. In the end, it is like a farmer’s harvest: whatever you sow in diligence and sincerity, supported by God, is what you will reap,” he remarked.

Mr. Eniade further advised civil servants to embrace commitment, loyalty, and accountability, describing laziness as a trait that should have no place in public service.

“Laziness should not be in the dictionary of public servants. Dedication, commitment, and loyalty must define your work ethic because, at the end of the day, everyone will give an account of their stewardship,” he concluded.

The event, attended by senior officials of Man O’ War Nigeria and officers of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, celebrated Mr. Eniade’s outstanding contributions to youth development, leadership training, and national service during his four-year tenure as Director-General.
