On the occasion of May Day, a close ally of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Hon. Rita Orji, has paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers.

In her statement made available to  newsmen in Abuja, she celebrates their strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit, highlighting the essential role they play in building the nation and driving its growth.

Barrister Rita praised workers across various sectors, stating, “From the farms to the factories, classrooms to construction sites, and markets to ministries, your hands build the nation, and your sweat waters its growth.”

She stressed the need to recognise their sacrifices and dignity, calling them “the heartbeat of Nigeria’s development and the true heroes of our economy.”

The international business mogul advocated fair wages and improved working conditions, expressing hope that “your efforts never go unrewarded, and your voices continue to be heard in the halls of power.

“May God give us leaders that will recognize the sacrifices made towards development of our mother land.”
