Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has promised to pay civil servants in the state 13th month salary before the new year.

 

Makinde stated this on Sunday night, while speaking at the 2023 Christmas Carol Service held at the Remembrance Arcade, Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

The theme of this year’s Carol Service was “Unto us a child is born”.

A post on his verified Twitter account read: “We held the 2023 Festival of Carols and Nine Lessons, themed “Unto Us a Child is Born” tonight.

“The service gave us another opportunity to thank God for His mercies and faithfulness this year even though it has been a tough year economically.

 

“I assured civil servants in Oyo State that as we have been doing every year since 2019, we will again pay the 13th month salary before the end of this year.”

Recall that Governor Makinde’s administration has been paying 13th-month salary since 2019.

    This is a good thing that the GSAM has done by giving 13 months salary to Oyo State working force but governor should also remember the masses for their package for Xmas and dividend of democracy at this time of economic hardship.
