The story of Abass Adigun Agboworin stands out as one of quiet impact, loyalty, and growing statewide acceptance. For some time, his silence in the media space has led to speculations—some even suggesting he may be stepping back from active politics. But those close to the way he works know otherwise. Perhaps I should repeat again that the man Agboworin, who represents the Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency, is a man who has remained deeply committed to service. That’s one thing you cannot take away from him.

He chooses results over noise, no doubt.
Agboworin, as a proud son of Ibadan that he is, with deep-rooted family ties to the city, practically represents not just a constituency, but a people whose values are grounded in community, faith, hard work and grassroots connection. His identity as a grassroots politician and a man of strong religious and cultural grounding, has continued to endear him to many across Oyo State.

For those who are not really aware, beyond his identity, his records speak volume as a lawmaker. In the area of healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development, education and security, his footprints are visible. From interventions in health centres to the installation of streetlights across all the 24 wards in his constituency, his approach has been consistent—delivering where it matters most. There are many more achievements that I will mention consequently.
Perhaps most notable is his role in strengthening the security architecture of the state, particularly through efforts that facilitated key security formation such as Nigerian Air Force in Ajia, Ibadan. Equally significant is the establishment of a new ongoing for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Mokola, Ibadan. These are not merely projects; they are strategic, long-term investments in the safety, stability, and overall resilience of Oyo State.

Yet, what truly distinguishes Agboworin is not just what he has done, but how he has done it. In the scale of his achievements, the thoughtfulness and people-centered approach with which they have been executed, is exceedingly superb.
Despite being a federal lawmaker, he has remained unwavering in his loyalty to his principal, the governor of Oyo State and to the vision of his leadership. In a time when political ambition often overrides structure, his discipline and alignment have marked him out as a dependable team player.

Quickly, let me add that the story of Agboworin is also one of sacrifice. Leaving opportunities abroad to return home and serve is not a common path, but it is one that reflects his belief in contributing to the growth of his homeland — Oyo State.

There is a growing consensus that leadership is not only about occupying the office, but about capacity, consistency, and connection with the people. On these fronts, Agboworin continues to build a compelling case. As Oyo State looks toward the future, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the journey of Abass Adigun Agboworin may just be entering its most defining phase.
