In a significant boost on Wednesday, the Chairmanship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 local government election, Hon. George Ogunlade was endorsed ahead of the April election during his ward-tour campaign to some areas in Ogbomoso North Local Government. 

Along with his running mate, Hon. Salawu Taofeek Adigun, and other party officials, Ogunlade visited Saja ward 6 and Sabo/Taraa ward 10, where he was warmly welcomed by the Hausa and Igbo communities. 

A large chunks of supporters welcomed him and his entourage with joy and excitement in both wards. 

The air was charged with applause and celebration as residents of the communities voiced their support and willingness to back his candidature. 

During the campaign tour, Hon. Ogunlade made a strong plea for support from women, youths, and community leaders. 

He reiterated his pledge to serve the people wholeheartedly if elected, stressing the need for unity and inclusivity in driving development initiatives at the local level.

In a separate remarks, the community leaders noted that their support for Ogunlade was borne out of the good governance of Governor Seyi Makinde, adding that Oyo state has witnessed unprecedented development in the last five years under his watch. 

This show of solidarity underscores the broad-based support Hon. Ogunlade enjoys across diverse ethnic groups within the local government area.

The endorsement from Hausa and Igbo communities adds momentum to Hon. Ogunlade’s campaign, reflecting a unified stance towards progress and effective leadership at the grassroots level. 

As the election date approaches, the PDP candidate continues to engage with various stakeholders, promising a responsive and inclusive administration if given the opportunity to serve as the Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government.

On the entourage of the chairmanship candidate include PDP councillors, Ogbomosho North Party Chairman, Prince Tewogbola Cash man, Hon. Hamzat Ibrahim, Hon. Abu Salam Arije, Hon. Rabiu Bello and Ogbomosho North LCDA Chairperson, Alhaja Adijat Oritoke Rainbow.
