LG Poll: A Vote For PDP Is Also For Makinde, Good Governance At The Grassroots–Akeem Olatunji Tells Voters…
…Expresses Appreciation To Political Stakeholders
As the coming Saturday’s Local Government election in Oyo state draws near, the chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole, Akeem Olatunji, has urged voters to translate all the series of endorsements for him during the political campaign into an electoral victory for the PDP.
This was as the COREN certified Engineer and former publicity secretary of the ruling PDP in Oyo state stated that every vote for PDP candidates including chairmanship and Councillorship seats across the 33 local governments and 351 Wards in the State remain a vote for Seyi Makinde, good governance at the grassroots and continuity of Makinde’s Sustainable Development Agenda under Omituntun 2.0.
Olatunji disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday’s evening, April 24, reaffirming that the party in line with the electoral guidelines by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) has done all that is required for a landslide victory and that all that was left is in the hands of electorates.
Olatunji equally expressed confidence that the series of endorsements received from all the political stakeholders in Oluyole including the Community development Councils, Christian Association of Nigeria, League of Imams and Alfas, the traditional rulers, traders, artisans, farmers, civil society groups, NGOs, teachers, pensioners and the organized labor unions remain attestations to public acceptability ahead of the polls.
While commending PDP leaders and party faithful for standing firm in their resolve for Omituntun in Oluyole by going through the rigors of the electioneering campaign across the nooks and crannies of the ten wards, Olatunji emphasized the importance of internal unity and party cohesion to avoid giving the opposition any chance in the Council area.
“I am truly grateful for the overwhelming support and encouragement from the political stakeholders in Oluyole.
“Your unwavering commitment to our shared vision of a better future for our local government is truly inspiring and I can assure you that we will serve you with integrity, dignity and honor in line with the core principles of Governor Seyi Makinde which have made him a national political bride.” Olatunji said.
Olatunji also promised to prioritize the needs and aspirations of his people at the grassroots if elected as the executive chairman come Saturday while pledging to work tirelessly to address pressing issues such as infrastructure development, primary healthcare accessibility, education, security and youth empowerment.
Olatunji however, urged the electorate to exercise their civic obligation rightly by participating actively in the Saturday’s election. He emphasized the significance of every vote in shaping the future trajectory of Oluyole and encouraged residents to make informed decisions based on Governor Makinde’s track records and proposed agenda to domesticate the state’s sustainable development plan at the local government level.
