*LG Election: Oyo Federal Lawmaker, Agboworin, Rallies Support For Akintayo’s Second Term*

As activities hot up for the forthcoming local government election in Oyo State, a member of the House of Representatives, who represents Ibadan North East/South East, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has rallied support for the chairman of the Ibadan North East Local government area, Ibrahim Akintayo, for second term in office.

Agboworin declared his full support, on Friday, while gracing the New Year party organised by the PDP Ibadan North East Local government, where he was invited as a special Guest of honour.

The lawmaker, while addressing crowd at the carnival-like event, which held at St. Cyprians Primary School, Oke Adu, Ibadan, noted that Akintayo should be reelected on the strength of his impactful projects in different sectors of the state including education, health, security, human capacity development, among others.

He said: “First of all, I want to use this avenue to thank you all for supporting me to win again and represent you in the House of Representatives. This is an action I will never take for granted and I want to promise that I will not fail you.

“We all know that enemies rose against all what we were doing but the will of God prevailed. In my case, we went to the Tribunal and Appeal Court, yet we won as God took control of the whole process. So, I give the glory to Him.

“Now, I want to tell you that you have a lot to do in the forthcoming election you are preparing for. It is a great job that is ahead of you, which you must fulfill. And I believe you will do just that for our man, Akintayo. This time around, he will win again.

“I need you all to do the same way for my brother, Akintayo. The votes you used to elect me, you need to replicate that in the coming LG election,” Agboworin stated.

Hosted by the Chairman of the Local government, the event brought together political bigwigs, esteemed party faithfuls and other stakeholders at the grassroots level to celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Akintayo, in his remark, expressed gratitude to Hon Agboworin for gracing the event and equally thanked supporters and other dignitaries who attended the annual celebration.

He also noted that Agboworin’s presence at the event underscored his immense love for his constituents at the grassroots level and spirit of engagement and inclusivity.

He thanked other attendees for their unprecedented show of unwavering support and commitment to the party’s vision and for believing in his candidature.

The Chairman noted that the occasion, which saw the atmosphere of the environment buzzed with excitement with the large turnout of attendees, was a testament to the party’s commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among the party members. 

“I want to thank our Federal representative member, Hon Agboworin, for gracing this occasion even out of his busy schedule. We appreciate what he is doing for the people of his Constituency and we pray that God will engrace him to continue to do more.

“I am happy for a day like this where we have to celebrate, dance, wine, and dine like a family. This has further shown me that we are one and we have to maintain this course. I must sincerely thank you all for coming,” Akintayo stated.
