“A Mandate Granted, An Integrity Test”; Oyo Lawmaker Hon AKT Congratulates, Charges Newly Elected Lagelu LG Chairman, Councilors
Oyo Lawmaker representing Lagelu State Constituency in the 10th assembly Hon Olajide Akintunde AKT has congratulated the newly elected Chairman and councilors Lagelu local government in the just concluded local government election in Oyo State.
Hon AKT who is also the chairman house Committee on local government, Chieftaincy matters and State honors commends Gov Makinde for a well conducted election, given level ground for other political parties to participate and commend a well composition of the electorates during and after the election.
In the same vein, Hon Akintunde AKT expressed his Satisfaction in the hitched and violence free election conducted by the electoral officers (OYSIEC) and the efforts of the security personnel which facilitates fair and transparent electoral process.
In his statement made available to Apollo Media, Describing the third tier of the government as the critical one, Hon AKT urged the newly elected local government helmsmen to build on His excellency Governor Seyi Makinde’s legacy and replicate his leadership style to impact positively on the lives of the people at the grassroots.
The statement reads, “I want to sincerely congratulate the newly elected Lagelu council Chairman Hon Mudashiru Kamorudeen and his running mate, Hon Olayinka Sadiq and ward councilors elect across Lagelu local government upon their victory at the poll.
“Now that you have secured your seats, I will urge you to provide viable and impactful leadership that will speak to the yearnings of the people at the grassroots level in line with the ideals of our overall principal, Governor Seyi Makinde.”
“I want to charge them to remember that any position granted to anyone is a “Test to an Integrity”, your tenure has started counting on the day of your swearing-in and 3 years tenure will just come in a blink of an eyes,
“I am also impressed with the orderly manner with which voters, observers, security and OYSIEC officials as well as the people of the state, for conducting themselves throughout the process.
“While I felicitate with you, I want to urge you all to see the mandates freely given to you by the electorate as a call to serve, and do your best to justify the confidence reposed in you.”
