Lagelu, Oyo State|

The entire Traditional Council of Lagelu Local Government Area, comprising Obas, Baales, and Palace Chiefs, has unanimously endorsed the re-election of three distinguished leaders for their outstanding contributions to the development of the region. The trio—Hon. Olafisoye Akinmoyede, Federal House of Representatives member for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency; Hon. Akintunde Olajide Emmanuel, Oyo State House of Assembly member for Lagelu State Constituency; and Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen Morenikeji, Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government—received the council’s resounding support during an enlarged meeting held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

The resolution, announced in a statement signed by the Ologburo of Ogburo, Vice-Chairman of the Lagelu Local Government Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, highlights the trio’s exceptional performance in delivering transformative developmental programs and projects. These initiatives, described as the true dividends of democracy, have significantly impacted the lives of residents across the local government, fostering progress in the grassroots.

According to the statement, the harmonious and cordial relationship among Olafisoye, Akintunde, and Kamorudeen has been a driving force behind the remarkable achievements currently being recorded in Lagelu. Their collaborative efforts have not only strengthened governance but also inspired unity and progress among the people of the local government. “The synergy among these leaders is a shining example of what purposeful leadership can achieve,” the Ologburo declared, emphasizing that their collective impact has elevated the standard of living and brought unprecedented development to the area.

The council’s endorsement is seen as a powerful testament to the trio’s dedication and a clarion call for their continued leadership to sustain the momentum of progress. “Their achievements are not just milestones but a foundation for a brighter future for Lagelu,” the statement read. The traditional rulers urged the people of Lagelu to rally behind these leaders in the upcoming elections, emphasizing that their re-election would guarantee the consolidation of ongoing projects and the initiation of new ones.

As the 2027 elections approach, the endorsement by Lagelu’s revered traditional rulers is expected to resonate strongly with voters, reinforcing the trio’s standing as trusted stewards of the people’s mandate. The Traditional Council’s statement concluded with a call for continued support and prayers for the leaders, expressing confidence that their re-election would usher in an era of even greater prosperity for Lagelu Local Government.
