Mudashiru Kamorudeen inaugurated the LG Council of Traditional Queens in a dazzling ceremony that captivated Lagelu communities. This monumental move, hailed as a game-changer, officially elevates the revered queens to their rightful place as dynamic voices in local governance, setting a shining example of progress rooted in heritage.

The event, attended by dignitaries, community leaders, and residents, was a celebration of tradition, unity, and progress. The newly formed Council of Traditional Queens is set to formalize the roles of these revered women, granting them official recognition and a platform to amplify their influence in community development and governance.

In her heartfelt address, Mrs. Taiwo Abibat Mudashiru, the Chairperson of Lagelu, expressed profound gratitude to the queens for their unwavering dedication to the traditional institution. “Your remarkable service has been a pillar of strength in our communities,” she said. “This council is a testament to your enduring legacy and a step toward ensuring your voices are heard in shaping the future of Lagelu.”

Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, in his remarks, underscored his administration’s commitment to strengthening the traditional institution since its inception. He described the inauguration of the Council of Traditional Queens as “another bold step” toward honoring the cultural heritage of Lagelu while fostering inclusivity. “Our administration recognizes the pivotal role of our queens in promoting peace, unity, and development,” he stated. “This council is not just an honor but a platform to empower you to contribute even more significantly to our shared vision.”

The queens, adorned in resplendent traditional attire, radiated pride and gratitude as they received their formal recognition. The council is expected to serve as an advisory body, collaborating with the local government on issues ranging from cultural preservation to women’s empowerment and community welfare. This historic initiative is seen as a lifetime honor, cementing the traditional queen’s status as custodians of tradition and agents of progress.
