As part of its unwavering commitment to environmental health and public safety, the Environmental Health Officers of Ona Ara Local Government carried out a routine sanitation exercise today, 27th March 2025, at Olorunsogo Market.

The market and its surrounding environment were sealed and closed down due to unacceptable levels of filth and poor sanitary conditions that pose significant risks to public health. The inspection uncovered serious lapses in waste disposal and general hygiene practices.

In response, the market leadership has been mandated to engage an authorized refuse contractor, approved by Ona Ara Local Government, for proper waste management in compliance with environmental regulations.

The market will remain closed until all corrective measures are put in place and verified by the Office of the Executive Chairman, Dr. Temitope Kolapo Glorious, who continues to uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards environmental infractions and unclean marketplaces.

Ona Ara Local Government remains resolute in safeguarding the health and well-being of all residents through proactive and sustained environmental enforcement.
