Makinde Vows to Boost Sports Development as Governor’s Cup Gets Underway

As the 2024 Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Oyo State Governor’s Cup is set to kick off in Ibadan on Monday, Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde says his administration will continue to show total commitment to youths and sports development in the state.

Speaking at the media briefing of the Oyo State Governor’s Cup, commissioner for youth and sports Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, who represented the governor, commended Peculiar Ultimate Concerns for its contribution to youth and sports development in the state.
She maintained that the government of Oyo State under Engineer Seyi Makinde had kept to his words with establishment of female football team which will create a conducive environment needed by young women in the state to grow in their sporting careers.

Hon Wasilat Adegoke said the school’s football competition which was packaged by Kidzfoot Nigeria and Schools’ Sports is aimed to foster children in their love for sports and encourage team spirit and also, to assist them in actualizing their dreams in sports.
She, however, thanked Peculiar Ultimate Concerns for reviving school’s sports in Oyo state and promised total support from the government through the ministry of Education and youth and sports.
According to the head of delegation, Coach Yomi Elijah, the competition is expected start with Local Government Eliminations on May 13th 2024.
