JUST IN: Akinyele LG Strengthens Governance as Hon. Akinwole Akinleye Swears In New Special Assistants*

The Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance and party loyalty with the swearing-in of two new Special Assistants, following the recent termination of appointments of two special Assistants which necessitated immediate replacements.

The ceremony, held at the Office of the Executive Chairman, marked another strategic step in strengthening the administrative structure of the local government under the OMITUNTUN 2.0 agenda.

The newly sworn-in appointees are Mrs. Jimoh Hajarat, the widow of the late immediate past Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, and Mrs. Akinwale Anifat. Their appointments, drawn from Ward 5 in the interest of fairness and balance, were warmly received by party members and stakeholders, reflecting the Executive Chairman’s resolve to promote equity, recognition, and continuity within the party and the local government system.

In his address, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye urged the people to keep faith, noting that none of the appointees ever anticipated being called to serve at this time, a testament to the fact that commitment and loyalty to the party never go unnoticed.

He charged the new Special Assistants to remain diligent, steadfast, and honest in the discharge of their duties.

The Executive Chairman further called on party members and residents to continue supporting His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, under whose visionary leadership Oyo State has continued to gain national and global recognition, while assuring party faithful that dedication to the party’s progress will always be rewarded.

Speaking at the event, the PDP Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, described Hon. Akinwole Akinleye as an exemplary and unique leader. He commended the Executive Chairman’s rare and iconic decision to appoint the wife of his predecessor, noting that such an act of magnanimity clearly distinguishes him among his peers.

Hon. Opatokun while congratulating the appointees, admonished them to see their appointments as a call to deeper commitment to the party, urging them to shun anti-party activities, remain creative, innovative, and work diligently to advance the fortunes of the PDP.

In their separate remarks, the newly appointed Special Assistants expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Akinwole Akinleye, party leaders, stakeholders, and members for the rare opportunity to serve. They pledged unwavering loyalty, honesty, and dedication in the performance of their duties.
