Ademola Lookman has been crowned the 2024 African Footballer of the Year in a historic event that confirms his status as one of the best players in the world in the current calendar year.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria forward shook off competitions from South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, Cote d’Ivoire’s Simon Adingra, Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, and Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy to win the price.

Big congratulations to Ademola Lookman on being crowned the 2024 African Footballer of the Year! This is a huge achievement, and a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.

Lookman had an impressive year, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 18 appearances for Atalanta ¹. He also played a key role in Nigeria’s march to the final match of the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles forward edged out some tough competition, including South Africa’s Ronwen Williams, Cote d’Ivoire’s Simon Adingra, Achraf Hakimi of Morocco, and Guinea striker Serhou Guirassy.

This win means the award stays in Nigeria for another year, after teammate Victor Osimhen took it home last year. What an exciting moment for Nigerian football!
