JUNE 12 1993, FOUR DAYS IN BEFORE TURNING 19.

June 12 election, and struggles for actualisation was our most important struggle as young school leaver in 1993 and through all our days in the tertiary institutions. St Andrews College( 1995-1997) and University of Ibadan. (1997-1999) .
We were emboldened to face the military and the repression, we were excited by Epe declaration of Chief Mko Abiola, we faced the media to raise our voices, We wrote copiously to register our grievances, we read so much to be abreast of the situation ( tell magazine especially),

we attended sensitisation gatherings ( especially by CD/ JACON ) as facilitated by Late Chief Ganiyu Fawehinmi to keep the struggle alive ( May Allah forgive his shortcomings and admit him in paradise)we were jolted by the death of Bashorun Moshood Kashimawo Abiola , we were alarmed by the death of the tyrant, General Sanni Abacha and we witnessed the reinstatement of democracy with Chief Olusegun obasanjo as major beneficiary ( The election that brought in Chief obasanjo met us in the university).

We were on the streets, in courts and on the match for June 12 revalidation. ( The current chairman of Ibadan bar, Ibrahim lawal Esq was a leader in our battalion for democracy then as undergraduate.

I am proud to be involved in the struggle and the struggle was part of our history as we remain products of struggle against military oppression and subjugation .
We walked along with others , playing our roles in history and on the journey to this current democratic destination .

The current set of undergraduates should stand up for good governance under a democratic regime, after all, we have stood up against the military brutality and harassment for the current democracy to be installed and sustained on their behalf and history was our witness.
