Hon. Jimoh Adisa Olabisi (JAO) has been selected as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Oorelope Local Government’s State House of Assembly for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Adisa obtained the party’s nomination after receiving strong backing from key leaders of the constituency during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held this evening at the Local Government Secretariat in Idi Elegba, Igboho. This gathering featured significant political figures, elders, and stakeholders from all wards within the Local Government Area, and was described as pivotal for the party’s leadership direction in advance of the elections.
The nomination motion for Hon. Jimoh Adisa Olabisi as the PDP flagbearer for the Oorelope State House of Assembly was proposed by Hon. Lukuman Olawale Balogun and seconded by Alhaji Salam Alagbaje. In response, Hon. Fatia Asipa nominated Hon. Moses Adebayo Alao, which was seconded by Hon. Alhaji Yusuf Sarafadeen Alani, Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on political matters for the old Irepo Federal Constituency.

The selection process employed a voting system instilled by the leaders and was noted for its calm, transparent, and democratic atmosphere, allowing participants to openly indicate their preferences for the party’s representative.


Ultimately, Hon. Jimoh Adisa Olabisi JAO achieved a decisive win, receiving 11 votes against his nearest rival, Hon. Moses Alao Adebayo, who garnered 6 votes.

Leaders present at the meeting praised the peaceful and transparent nature of the voting process, highlighting it as a testament to the unity, maturity, and collective determination of PDP stakeholders throughout the constituency.

Nineteen leaders from the local government area were present, including Executive Chairman Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran and PDP Party Chairman Hon. Alhaji Oyelowo Safariyu, alongside Alh. Yakubu Oladoja, Alh. Ajila Hammad A, Alh. Yusuf Sarafadeen Alani, Hon. S.A., the political affairs advisor to the Oyo State Governor regarding the Old Irepo Federal Constituency, along with Mr. Oguntona Elisha, Mr. Odepe Sikirulahi, Mr. Lawal Alagbaje, Alh. Baminore Waheed A, Alhaji Adeoti Azeez A, Hon. Fatia Asipa, Mr. Jayeola Samson, Mr. Adelakun Asimi Ademola, Alh. Jimoh Anigbaje, Mr. Oyeleru Atoyebi N, Mr. Ajibade Rasaq, Hon. Lukuman Olawale Balogun, and Mr. Adeladan Muritala Abiodun.
The results were observed by Hon. Jacob Oluwale Ogundiran Executive Chairman Oorelope Local Government and Hon. Oyelowo Safariyu, the PDP Party Chairman.
Following the announcement, Hon. Jimoh Adisa Olabisi was officially declared the PDP candidate for the Oorelope State House of Assembly in the upcoming election cycle.
Political analysts believe this outcome reflects a strong consensus among the party leadership in the constituency, positioning Adisa as the party’s representative as political activities gain momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
The leaders’ decision was formally communicated and endorsed by the PDP Oorelope Local Government Stakeholders Forum.
