In the vibrant political landscape of Oyo State, certain individuals stand tall—not because they’ve held public office, but because they’ve earned the respect, admiration, and trust of the people through service, generosity, and unwavering dedication. One such figure is Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, affectionately known as JDS—a friend of all and a symbol of hope for the common man.

Though he has never occupied any government position or public office, JDS has become a central figure in the political narrative of Oyo State. Much like the legendary Chief Lamidi Adedibu, he plays a vital role behind the scenes—mobilizing, mentoring, and supporting with the heart of a patriot and the soul of a servant. His influence does not come from titles but from action, compassion, and credibility at the grassroots.

JDS has made it clear that true leadership begins with service to people, not position. His consistent efforts to uplift the poor, empower the youth, and bridge economic gaps stand as a testament to his deep love for humanity. From direct community interventions to silent acts of philanthropy, he has shown that the welfare of the masses is at the core of his mission.

Across towns and villages, markets and mosques, his name is met with admiration. He listens to the people, he walks among them, and he delivers for them—not because he must, but because he chooses to. In a society where many seek office for power, JDS wields influence without seeking power, making his legacy even more remarkable.

As Chairman and CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, JDS has also contributed immensely to Oyo State’s economy and tourism industry. His investments have created employment, promoted sports development, and positioned Akanran and its environs as emerging hubs of growth and opportunity. Through initiatives like Ilaji Farms, Ilaji Travels, Ilaji Clinic, and Ilaji FM, he continues to touch lives and open doors for many.

Recognized by institutions and communities alike, he has received numerous awards and chieftaincy titles, including his installation as the Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, a position that further cements his role as a custodian of tradition, unity, and development.

Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi is, without doubt, the Iroko of Oyo State politics—firm, rooted, and deeply respected. He embodies the rare kind of influence that doesn’t depend on ballot boxes but on the hearts he has touched.

In JDS, Oyo State has found a leader without title, a builder without noise, and a true friend of the people.

*Long live JDS—the Iroko of Oyo State politics.*
