An Ireland citizen, Chief Mrs Deborah who has been named Dabira Ashake Adegoye has lauded the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his infrastructural development and commitment to securing life, property and businesses in the state.

Chief Mrs Deborah Adegoye who was in Ibadan alongside her husband to receive a chieftaincy title bestowed on them as the Agbaakin and Yeye Agbaakin of Ojebode, in Ibadan last week Saturday, made the remark shortly after taking a walk round some major places and entertainment hubs in Ibadan.
She said “I am very much thrilled to come to Oyo state on my very first visit to Nigeria. Ibadan is very nice and accommodating. I have been shown around some places in the Ibadan city and from my observation, I found out that contrary to what we were being told about the Nigeria situation, Nigeria is not that bad. This state, Oyo especially is very peaceful, accommodating and conducive for investors and businesses to thrive. The present administration under Governor Seyi Makinde has actually invested so much in infrastructure development and particularly of interest is the Local Government House which I visited when my husband and I paid a courtesy visit to our family friend, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige.

I noticed that part of measures to make the state conducive by the Governor for businesses is reconstructing roads in the state with street lights that make the environment conducive for the residents and investors to maximize their businesses especially at night.”

Chief Mrs Deborah who has been married to her Ibadan born spouse, Chief Gbenga Adegoye for 15 years in Ireland where they reside, noted that with her impression on her first visit to Oyo State, she has made up her mind to henceforth come to Nigeria on a regular basis to spend her holiday.

She advised other foreigners who have never visited Nigeria to change their perception of the country, adding that Oyo State is undoubtedly one of the safest, finest and peaceful among the comity of states in Nigeria.
