The Ilora Development Association has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State House of Assembly for Recognising Akibio of Ilora as a permanent member of the Oyo Council of Obas.

The landmark decision is seen by the association as a significant step toward honouring the cultural heritage and leadership within the community.

President of the association, Elder Remi Olaniyan, praised the move, stating, “We are immensely grateful to Governor Makinde and the Oyo Assembly for this recognition. Akibio’s appointment as a permanent member of the Oyo Council of Obas is a testament to his dedication to our community and the values we hold dear.”

The association emphasised that Akibio’s longstanding commitment to the development of Ilora and its people makes him an ideal representative on the council.

“Akibio has been a guiding light for us. His wisdom and experience will undoubtedly enrich the discussions and decisions made at the council level.”

The Ilora Development Association looks forward to the positive impact of Akibio’s membership in the council, believing it will foster greater collaboration and unity among traditional leaders in the region.

“We urge all stakeholders to support Chief Akibio in this new role, as it is an opportunity for our community to shine.”

He noted that the recognition of Akibio marked a pivotal moment for the Ilora community, reinforcing the importance of leadership that is deeply rooted in cultural values and community service.
