The member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has stated that he would love to continue serving the people.

He equally stressed that his political journey and achievements are rooted in the love and support of the people rather than personal ambition.
Agboworin, while speaking during an interview session on Fresh 105.9FM on Saturday, described the privilege of serving two terms in the House of Representatives as a rare honour, which he does not take for granted.

According to him, his emergence and continued relevance in politics are testimonies to divine will and the unwavering trust reposed in him by his constituents.

“I am a Muslim and I believe strongly in the will of Almighty Allah. Being given the privilege to serve for two terms is a big honour, one I have never taken for granted. I didn’t come from a political home; it is purely the love for the people that brought me into politics,” he said.

The lawmaker noted that his deep connection with the people has continued to shape his approach to governance and representation, adding that it explains his commitment to impactful service delivery across his constituency.
The lawmaker recalled how many of his contemporaries chose to stay abroad in search of greener pastures, but he made a conscious decision to come back home and contribute to societal development through public service.

“Some of my friends are abroad, but I decided to come back home. The people believed in me, and that belief has continued to motivate everything I do,” Agboworin stated.
Speaking further on speculations surrounding his political future, Agboworin emphasized his respect for party hierarchy and leadership, noting that decisions regarding his next political steps would be guided by, first, his Principal and the governor of Oyo State; his leaders, party stakeholders, and divine direction.
“I have leaders in our party. I have my Principal and other stakeholders. People ask me this question every now and then, and I always tell them that it is up to my Principal and God to decide.
“Truth is, I will love to continue to serve my people, but whatever decision is taken on my political career, in whatever capacity, by my Principal and party stakeholders, I will gladly and wholeheartedly accept it,” he said.
The federal lawmaker also attributed positive public perception of his performance to his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises, noting that accountability remains central to his representation.
“When people say I am doing well, I believe it is because I fulfill the promise I make to the people,” he added.
