In what has been described as a remarkable demonstration of leadership and compassion, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, empowered several security agencies with essential operational tools to enhance their efficiency and boost public safety.

The event, held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the Ibadan Civic Center, Idi Ape, drew dignitaries, party stalwarts, and top security officers from across Oyo State. The empowerment initiative included the donation of vital items such as fridges, generators, printers, and other office equipment to the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, Amotekun, NSCDC, and Operation Burst within the constituency.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Agboworin reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the vision of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in building a safer and more secure Oyo State.

“This empowerment programme is an extension of Governor Seyi Makinde’s ongoing drive to strengthen the state’s security architecture,” Hon. Agboworin stated. “During my constituency visits, I realized that many of our security outfits lacked basic operational tools. This initiative is to fill those gaps and motivate others to prioritize security as a shared civic duty, not a campaign agenda.”

He further called on private organizations, corporate citizens, and individuals to assist security agencies with logistics and operational support, emphasizing that collective action is key to sustainable peace.
“If our security agencies are poorly equipped or demoralized, the safety of our communities becomes compromised. This is why everyone must contribute,” he added.
The list of donated items includes:

Fridges
Generators
Water Dispensers
HP LaserJet Printers
Bundles of A4 Paper
Writing Pads
Packs of Official Files
Beneficiaries include the Nigeria Police Force, Oyo State Command; DSS offices in Ibadan North East and Ibadan South East; Amotekun Corps; NSCDC; Operation Burst; and several divisional police headquarters across the constituency.
Meanwhile, Hon. Moyosoreoluwa Olamilekan Eldreez, popularly known as IJOBA AUTHORITY MOE, from Ibadan North East, lauded Hon. Agboworin’s empowerment drive, describing it as “a diet of its kind” and “a leadership model that reflects genuine concern for grassroots security.”

Agboworin has done is beyond politics — it is purposeful governance and empathy in action,” MOE stated. “Empowering security agencies shows he understands that safety is the foundation of development. This rare initiative deserves commendation and replication across all federal constituencies.”
In his goodwill message, the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, represented by the Officer in Charge of Operations (OC Ops), praised Hon. Agboworin for identifying the crucial needs of the security sector. Similarly, CP Sunday Odukoya (rtd), Executive Adviser on Security Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde, applauded the lawmaker’s foresight and alignment with the Governor’s pro-security agenda.
