The Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State has announced the death of a former Chairman of the council and former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Isiaka Adeola.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the local government under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, the council expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the respected public servant, describing him as a community pillar and a committed grassroots leader.
According to the statement, Hon. Adeola, who served both as Chairman of Ido Local Government and as a lawmaker representing the area at the state level, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The council noted that the late Adeola was widely known for his dedication to grassroots development, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Ido Local Government and Oyo State as a whole. His death, the statement added, has created a deep sense of loss among political associates, community members, and beneficiaries of his leadership.
“Hon. Isiaka Adeola’s visionary leadership and compassionate nature left lasting impacts on our communities. His contributions to governance and public service will be remembered for years to come,” the statement read.
The local government further disclosed that the deceased has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites. Janazah prayers and burial were held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his residence in Hope Centre, Omi-Adio, Ibadan.
The council extended its condolences to the family, friends, and political associates of the late lawmaker, praying for the repose of his soul and for God to grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
