Ido LG: We never affirmed suspension of 9 Supervisory Councillors— Ido LG Stakeholders
…Our concern to call both parties and resolve issues amicably
Stakeholders of Ido Local Government including the former Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Alhaja omolabaake Olayiwola, as well as the overall leader of PDP in Ido Local Government, Malam Muyili Yusuf, have denied report making round that they purportedly affirmed suspension of Nine Supervisory Councillors in Ido Locao Government.
Olayiwola, who spoke over the phone on Thursday while reacting to the lingering crisis and to get the details of what transpired at the meeting, said that as a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state and a notable stakeholder, she would never worsen the situation on the ground.
She wondered while anyone would be dragging stakeholders to cause trouble, adding that as a mother to all, her concern is to call both parties and settle whatever difference and not making the issue worst.
“Am I not a stakeholder as far as Ido LG is concerned? I was not at the said meeting and information reaching me from the overall leader did not tell me suspension was affirmed but to call all together and resolve it,” Olayiwola said during the conversation.
MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the Former Commissioner’s reaction is coming less than ten hours after four councilors announced the impeachment of their House Leader, Tirimisiyu Abidoye and hurriedly sworn in the Deputy leader, Hon. Omotosho Rafiu, as the new House leader while Hon. Akanji Jeleel was selected as the new Deputy leader of the house despite not forming quorum or 2/3 of the majority.
When contacted, Malam Muyili Yusuf, the PDP’s overall leader in Ido Local Government who presided over the stakeholders meeting however denied affirming the suspension of the 9 supervisory councillors nor the impeachment of House leader, adding that the details of their discussion was how peace would be maintained.
He stated further: “It was true the supervisory councillors brought a letter to me and I promised them to call a meeting of leaders last week which did not come up due to some circumstances.
“My daughter is one of the supervisory councillors who signed the letters and I asked her to call me and others who signed along with her for a fatherly talk and she told me they all agree to see me in camera before a general meeting.
“Will the said suspension brings peace I ask you the caller? Pls I can assure you. My friend Elder Wole Oyelese put a call to me after reading from your nonsense social media, he said Baba what is happening in your local government, You have become the laugh of the town and I told him it is our home affairs and I will resolve it.”
Meanwhile, efforts to get the reaction of the House of Assembly member representing Ido local government, Hon. Rasak. Adekunle Mabaje, by our correspondent was unsuccessful as he said he was in a meeting that we should call back.
It would be recalled that Hon. Tirimisiyu Abidoye had earlier described his purported impeachment as a charade and like a comedy show of late Olaiya Mose a.k.a Baba sala, declaring that he remains the authentic leader of the House.
He noted only the Speaker of the House is authorized by law to summon a meeting of the House, adding that nothing has changed in the legislative arm of Ido local government as the status quo still recognizes Hon. Tirimisiyu Abidoye as the authentic leader of the House.
