In a commendable display of strong dedication to child education, member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has facilitated an impressive 15,153 school items to public secondary schools in the federal constituency.

The distribution, which took place in the constituency on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Okedere High School, Idere, Tapa Community High School, Tapa and Oke-Aako, Igangan, was attended by officials from the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), school principals and teachers, political functionaries, PDP leaders in the constituency, community leaders and various key stakeholders in the education sector.
The facilitation of the school items is part of Hon. Adepoju’s ongoing efforts to bridge the educational gap and provide students with the necessary resources they need to excel in their academic pursuits in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North.

The lawmaker had earlier disclosed that the selection of the three public schools that benefited from the empowerment was as a result of the on-the-spot assessment his team carried out last year, which indicated a pressing need for the citadels of learning.

Speaking on behalf of their respective schools, the principals of Okedere High School, Tapa Community High School and Oke-Aako High School, Mr. Jimoh Haruna, Mr. Ojenike Lasisi and Mrs. Alawode Christianah, respectively, lauded the lawmaker’s huge contribution to the advancement of education in the constituency since his election in 2023.
The principals remarked that Hon. Adepoju’s commitment to education in the constituency is not only unprecedented but has also set a new standard, surpassing any effort made by any lawmaker in the constituency since the inception of democracy in 1999. They highlighted numerous infrastructural strides of the lawmaker, which have resulted in the construction of state-of-the-art classrooms in all the five principal towns in the constituency, free holiday lessons, the popular One-Day House of Representatives Competition, UTME scholarships, scholarships to outstanding students in tertiary institutions of learning and recognition of first-class and distinction graduates in the constituency. The school principals prayed that these numerous developments would continue for many more years under the representation of Hon. Adepoju.
The school authorities said the materials were more than what they would have ordinarily bargained for, noting that the items would aid learning and equally assist the teachers in carrying out their job efficiently.

In their own remarks, Hon. Sola Fakorede, who is the PDP Bloc 3 leader in Ibarapa Central, asked the students to emulate the leadership style of Hon. Adepoju, who continues to remember residents of the constituency in all ramifications. He enjoined the students to learn to give back to their community when they find themselves in leadership positions tomorrow. He encouraged them to see themselves beyond their background and look around to derive inspiration from men and women who have achieved greater things in life, even from a small place.
Also, Hon. Gbade Akinlolu, who is the party chairman of the PDP in Ibarapa Central, admonished the students to make good use of the items. He acknowledged the indefatigable gesture of Hon. Adepoju as a public servant, asking the students to always remember the lawmaker in their prayers to continue to excel in his legislative assignment.
Extending his gratitude, the Deputy Leader of Ibarapa Central, who represents Ward 3 in Idere, Hon. Lawrence Adepoju, appreciated the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Constituency for finding the good people of his ward worthy of the school items. He promised the federal lawmaker the continued support of the people of Ward 3 and also seized the moment to thank Hon. Adepoju for the construction of a block of two classrooms for the pupils of Islamic School I in the same political ward, saying that the people of his ward are appreciative of the lawmaker’s kind gesture and will always pay those good deeds back at the appropriate time.
In their own words of appreciation, Hon. Rasheed Babarinde, Hon. Bisi Akande, Hon. Simisolu Agbeje, Hon. Sola Ajayi, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North, Ibarapa North Supervisory Councilor for Education and Ibarapa North Supervisory Councilor for Health, respectively, commended Hon. Adepoju for facilitating the essential school items to the three public schools in the constituency. According to them, Hon. Adepoju has raised the bar of leadership so high for anybody to beat in the constituency. The local political officeholders remarked that it is one thing to elect a leader and it is entirely a different thing for such a leader to deliver in the given assignment, noting that Hon. Adepoju has demystified representation and that the constituency cannot afford to go back to Egypt. They prayed to God to continue to grant the lawmaker the strength and wisdom to continue to provide dividends of democracy to the people of the constituency, while achieving all his political dreams too.
Commenting on the success of the distribution of the school items, Hon. Adepoju said the empowerment aligns with His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde’s broader vision for education in Oyo State. The lawmaker said what he had simply done was to complement the efforts of his principal and leader in a bid to ensure education is accessible to the people of his constituency.
The school items distributed to the three schools on Tuesday included class furniture (tables/chairs), executive chairs and tables, customized school bags, biros (Schneider Blue), biros (Schneider Red), notebooks (small hardcover – Quarto), notebooks (big hardcover – A4) and thousands of 60-leaf notebooks.
Hon. Adepoju, however, extended his appreciation to UBEC for their support and for also making it down to his constituency to supervise the distribution.
