Ibarapakan Commends Makinde Over PDP House Donation in Ibadan

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, for the donation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House in Ibadan.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, the lawmaker described the gesture as a clear demonstration of leadership, party loyalty and commitment to democratic consolidation.

According to him, the PDP House will serve as a meeting point where party members, leaders, youths and women come together to discuss pertinent issues, chart a clear course of action and move the party forward in a peaceful and organised manner.

The Ibarapa-born federal lawmaker noted that the donation symbolises Governor Makinde’s commitment to strengthening the institutional foundation of the PDP in Oyo State and across Nigeria.

He stressed that naming the new PDP Secretariat in Ibadan after Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha, the Oyo State PDP Chairman who led the PDP to victory in the state in 2019, is a demonstration that Gov. Makinde rewards hard work and loyalty to the PDP.

“The decision of Gov. Makinde to donate a befitting PDP Secretariat in Ibadan reflects a leader who understands that a strong party structure is indispensable to good governance and sustainable democratic progress. The PDP House will serve as a rallying point for ideological engagement, capacity building and collective decision-making among party faithful.

“We are proud to have a leader like Gov. Makinde at a time when certain forces appear determined to undermine our hard-earned democracy, an achievement secured through the sacrifices and courage of our nation’s founding fathers, who placed their lives on the line to attain it,” the lawmaker expressed.

Ibarapakan also described the development as a timely intervention that will further strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements in Oyo State.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, called on party stakeholders to reciprocate this noble gesture by remaining united, disciplined and committed to the collective vision of the party.

He prayed for continued wisdom, strength and success for Governor Seyi Makinde as he continues to steer the affairs of Oyo State, affirming that the PDP under his leadership remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering people-centred governance and upholding the democratic aspirations of the people.
