In a proactive move to protect families from malaria and promote healthy living, the First Lady of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Mrs. Adeleke Olusola Adebimpe has officially flagged off the distribution of free Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs) to residents across the council area.


The flag-off ceremony, held today 1st August 2025 at Council Secretariat attracted community leaders, health officials, youth representatives and enthusiastic residents who welcomed the timely intervention.
In his message made available Azeez Sodiq Adesina while addressing the gathering, Mrs. Adeleke Olusola Adebimpe emphasized that malaria prevention remains a top priority for the local government administration. She highlighted that the proper use of insecticide-treated nets will greatly reduce the spread of malaria, particularly among children and pregnant women who are most at risk.

She reassured the people of Ibarapa Central that the administration will continue to roll out impactful programs that directly touch lives and uplift the wellbeing of every household.


“This initiative is another step in our commitment to safeguarding the health of our people. We urge everyone to use these nets correctly to protect themselves and their loved ones,” Mrs. Adeleke stated.

In a separate address, the Director of Medical Health, Dr. Adegoke Ezekiel, further briefed attendees on the importance of the program and how it will drastically reduce malaria-related illnesses in the area.
Also, the State Coordinator, Mr. Joshua Ayodele, commended Mrs. Adeleke Olusola Adebimpe for her relentless commitment to community health and enlightened beneficiaries on the correct use and maintenance of the mosquito nets to ensure maximum protection.

Adding to the demonstration, Technical Coordinator Mrs. Atilola Yemisi practically showed the residents how to properly install and care for the nets for lasting protection.
Beneficiaries who received the nets expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Adeleke Olusola Adebimpe and the local government leadership for making their health a priority.
The distribution exercise will extend to all wards within Ibarapa Central, reaching thousands of households with free insecticide-treated nets and vital health education.
