The Oyo State Government has unveiled the Royal Entertainment Cruise at Eleyele Lake in Ibadan as a new tourist center, and it’s set to host a romantic Valentine’s Day celebration. The event, tagged “Valentine Cruise,” aims to promote peace, love, and friendship among residents and visitors.

Located at Obokun junction, Off Eleyele Road, Ibadan, Eleyele Lake is a picturesque natural haven that captivates both locals and visitors alike. The serene lake, set against the backdrop of lush greenery, offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city.

Speaking on the programme tagged ‘Valentine Cruise,’ scheduled to hold on Friday, 14th February, 2025 at the Royal Entertainment Cruise, Eleyele Lake, Ibadan, Dr Olatunbosun said the event would promote peace, love, friendship, admiration and tolerance among residents and visitors in the state and also promote aquatic tourism, create employment opportunities as well as boost the income and economy of the state.

He said: “Every 14th February is observed globally as Valentine’s Day with the purpose of celebrating love, friendship and admiration.

“The Oyo State Government has concluded all arrangements to join the rest of the world in the celebration of this year’s Valentine’s Day in an elaborate form.

“Consequently, in its unique pacesetting features, the Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in conjunction with Royal Entertainment Cruise, is set to organise the first-ever Ibadan Valentine Cruise on Eleyele Lake, on Friday, 14th February, 2025.

The vision is to foster a culture of peace, love, and understanding among residents and visitors in the state, while showcasing its aquatic tourism attractions.

This initiative also aims to generate employment and empowerment opportunities through tourism, ultimately boosting local incomes and contributing to the state’s sustainable development.

The Honourable Commissioner highlighted the success of Oyo State’s first-ever international tourism summit, held in April last year, which effectively showcased the state’s investment potential to the world. This pioneering event opened doors for investors to explore and capitalize on the state’s vast opportunities.

Building on this momentum, the Commissioner commended Dr. Sanmi Bamidele, CEO of Royal Entertainment Cruise, for his innovative venture into aquatic entertainment, which has drawn significant attention and crowds.
