Ibadan South West Local Government Executive Chairman, Honourable Kehinde Akande, met with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) Ibadan South West Chapter yesterday, emphasizing his administration’s resolve to safeguard residents and their properties. The meeting focused on enhancing security measures and exploring ways to curb crime in the area.

Hon. Akande assured the VGN of his continued support, recognizing their vital role in community policing. The Chairman also urged them to remain professional and impartial in their duties. The VGN expressed gratitude for his commitment, pledging to work closely with the local government to ensure a secure environment for all. The collaboration is expected to boost residents’ confidence and foster economic growth in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the VGN, Commandant Kazeem Abiade expressed gratitude to Hon. Akande for his unwavering support and commitment to security. Abiade reassured the Chairman that the VGN will intensify their efforts in strengthening security networks across various communities in the local government area, ensuring a safer environment for all.

Also present at the meeting were Alhaja Toyosi Salau, HLGA of the council, and Honourable Tunde Oluyedun, Supervisory Councillor for Infrastructure.
