Ibadan South East LCDA Political Head, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji, Sympathizes with Dr. Yinka Ayefele Over Fresh FM Fire Incident

The political Head of Ibadan South East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Teslim Ogundeji, has commiserated with renowned gospel musician, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, and the entire staff of Fresh 105.9 FM Ibadan following the fire incident that engulfed the station on Friday, August 15, 2025.

The unfortunate outbreak, which occurred at the station’s Music House headquarters in the Challenge area of Ibadan, destroyed valuable transmission equipment and other property worth millions of naira.

In a statement issued on Sunday, August 17, 2025, Hon. Ogundeji described the incident as “devastating and highly regrettable.”

> “My thoughts are with the owner and entire management of Fresh 105.9 FM over the unfortunate fire incident that ravaged the station on Friday. The award-winning Fresh FM has, over the years, provided employment opportunities for youths in Oyo State and has remained a vital part of the southwestern media landscape—championing good governance, promoting local content, and offering quality entertainment,” Hon. Ogundeji said.

He further prayed that such a calamity would never befall the establishment again, while extending his sympathy to his close friend and anchor of the station’s flagship political programme, Political Circuit, Mayor Isaac Brown.

> “It is indeed unfortunate that property worth millions of naira has been destroyed. However, we take solace in the fact that no lives were lost. I pray that the Almighty continues to protect Dr. Ayefele, the management, and the entire crew of Fresh FM.”

Hon. Ogundeji urged the management and staff not to be discouraged by the setback but to remain steadfast, assuring that the station would rise stronger.

> “I urge the management and staff of the radio station to take heart and not be deterred by this unfortunate incident. I trust that you will find the strength and the necessary support from different quarters to rebuild the station and return on air as soon as possible,” he added.
