IBADAN NORTHWEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN ADEPOJU, CELEBRATES WORLD FOOD DAY WITH FARMERS

Farmers across Oyo State converged at the open ground of the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan,to commemorate this year’s World Food Day. The theme for this year celebration is “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.”

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju, alongside members of his Executive cabinet, was present at the event to celebrate and show solidarity with farmers from the council area.

In his remarks, the Council Boss commended the farmers for their resilience, hard work and dedication, especially in the face of numerous challenges. He acknowledged their vital role in sustaining food supply and ensuring food security within the state and the nation at large.

Alhaji Adepoju reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for farmers through local empowerment programmes, provision of farming inputs, and access to agricultural resources aimed at boosting productivity.

Farmers from Ibadan Northwest Local Government showcased a rich variety of food and cash crops, demonstrating the agricultural potential of the local government.
