Ibadan North Rep-Elect, Oyekunle (DoN), Presents Certificate of Return to Oyo PDP at Molete Secretariat

The Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today received the Certificate of Return of Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DoN), the newly elected Member of the House of Representatives for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, at the party’s state secretariat in Molete, Ibadan.

In a rare move, Hon. Oyekunle presented the certificate to the party leadership, led by the State Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, who received it on behalf of the executive.

Speaking at the event, Alhaji Adeleke described the gesture as historic, noting that it was the first time a candidate of the party would present such a certificate directly to the party.

*“Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle has surprised us today. This is the first time a candidate will emerge and consider the party worthy of receiving his Certificate of Return. It shows clearly that he is not the wrong personality to occupy this seat, and the people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency have made the right choice,”* he said.

In his remarks, Hon. Oyekunle appreciated the PDP executives for their unwavering support and credited Governor Seyi Makinde for inspiring his political journey.

The emergence of the PDP is for the people, and will remain for the people irrespective of circumstances. Also in attendance were members of the state executive, including Hon. Michael Ogunsina, the State Publicity Secretary, the Youth Leader, and other top officials of the party, who jointly applauded the symbolic gesture as a show of loyalty and unity within the PDP.
