Ibadan North East Chairman Akintayo Organises Ramadan Iftar (Breaking of Fast) Evening for the Community

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Honourable Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as O mu Yes organized a remarkable Ramadan Iftar (breaking of fast) evening yesterday, March 26, 2025 at the local government premises.

In a release signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, The Chairman reiterated the significance of Iftar in the Muslim community, highlighting its role in fostering unity and compassion. He further emphasized, “By coming together to dine after a day of fasting, individuals strengthen their bonds and demonstrate kindness, promoting a sense of belonging and social cohesion.”

Hon Akintayo noted that the significance of Ramadan as a month of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and renewed commitment to the values of Islam is profound saying through fasting, prayer and charity, individuals cultivate self-discipline, empathy, and compassion, drawing closer to their faith and community. .

The Guest lecturer, Alhaji Muhammadu Awwal Abdulfatahi, who’s the Chief Imaam Ibadan NorthEast Central Mosque and its environs,while delivering sermon said, Ramadan inspires personal growth, spiritual renewal, and strengthened relationships, guiding Muslims to embody the values of Islam in their daily lives

He encouraged the attendees to use this opportunity to strengthen their faith, seek forgiveness, and pray for peace and prosperity in the community.

The Iftar programme is commendable as people from different faiths and backgrounds came together to share in the spirit of Ramadan and everyone was welcome to break their fast and enjoy the company of others, regardless of their religious affiliation or social status.

This event brought together a diverse group of individuals, including league of imams, political leaders, management staff, well-wishers, and members of the community, to break their fast and foster a sense of unity and togetherness.

The event was a resounding success, with attendees praising the initiative and praying that Ibadan North East LG will continue to progress and flourish under the leadership of Honourable Akintayo, bringing more prosperity and development to the community.
