Ibadan, Oyo State

The lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi (Wale Canada), has formally commended His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for granting approval for the construction of the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road, a critical link route within Oke-Ogun.
Hon. Wale Canada described the approval as “a decisive policy action that reinforces the Makinde administration’s commitment to equitable infrastructure development and balanced resource allocation across all zones of Oyo State.”

According to the lawmaker:

> “The approval of the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road is not just a project announcement — it is a strategic intervention that speaks to the governor’s understanding of the infrastructural realities of rural constituencies. This decision reflects leadership that listens, responds, and prioritizes developmental justice.”
He noted that the road, once completed, will enhance agricultural value chains, improve security logistics, strengthen inter-community mobility, and stimulate local economies within the Atisbo/Saki-East axis.
Hon. Wale Canada emphasized that the Legislature remains committed to supporting executive policies that align with the broader development agenda of Oyo State, adding:

> “As a representative of the people, I acknowledge this approval as a direct answer to long-standing agitation from our constituents. I commend His Excellency for his consistency in bridging infrastructure gaps, especially in Oke-Ogun. The House of Assembly will continue to provide the legislative backing necessary to sustain this momentum.”
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his readiness to engage relevant ministries and contractors to ensure timely mobilization and strict compliance with project specifications and procurement standards.
He called on community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders across Ogbooro, Agbonle, and adjoining settlements to cooperate fully with contractors throughout the execution phase for seamless project delivery.
> “The Makinde-led administration has again demonstrated that good governance is not rhetoric but action. We will continue to work in partnership with the executive to ensure that Oke-Ogun’s infrastructure receives the attention it rightly deserves,” he added.
The approval of the Ogbooro–Agbonle Road stands among key road projects recently sanctioned by the state government, underscoring the administration’s resolve to expand road networks that support agricultural productivity, economic integration, and regional development.
