Hon. Lanre Sarumi, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the last general election, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Olunloyo family and the entire people of Oyo State following the passing of Chief Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former Governor of Oyo State.

Chief Olunloyo, who passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, just days before his 90th birthday, led a life of extraordinary impact and accomplishment. Hon. Sarumi, in his tribute, celebrated Chief Olunloyo’s remarkable legacy as a leader, intellectual, and statesman.

“Chief Olunloyo lived a life full of purpose, dedication, and service to the people,” Hon. Sarumi said. “His contributions to Oyo State and Nigeria are immeasurable, and his wisdom, intellect, and integrity will continue to inspire us all. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life — a life well-lived, a life that touched so many.”

Hon. Sarumi offered his condolences to the family, urging them to take comfort in the enduring legacy left behind by their patriarch. He also called on the people of Oyo State to honor Chief Olunloyo’s memory by embracing the values of excellence, unity, and service that he exemplified throughout his remarkable journey.

“Papa has left us with a legacy we must cherish and uphold,” he concluded. “Let us carry his torch forward and continue building a prosperous Oyo State in his honor.”
