Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Akande, received a familiarization visit from the Apata Ganga Community on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The delegation, led by the Baale of Apata Ganga, Alhaji Chief Biliaminu Oyero Foko and his secretary, Chief Adams Adegbola Boje expressed their joy and congratulations to Honourable Akande on his election as Chairman of the Local Government.
In a heartfelt address, the Baale praised Honourable Akande’s leadership and pledged the community’s unwavering support for his administration and that of Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde of Oyo State. The Apata Ganga Community highlighted their commitment to the Local Government’s development and growth.
The delegation brought to the Chairman’s attention several development and infrastructural needs of their community, including:
1. Establishment of a modern customary court for efficient justice dispensation.
2. Repairs and equipment of health centres, including Omuyadun Maternity Centre, Apata Ganga Government College Health Clinic, and Aba Alamu Health/Maternity Centre.
3. Construction of a modern market with lock-up shops to boost large-scale marketing activities.
The Baale emphasized that these needs have been previously communicated through letters dated July 30, 2021, and August 6, 2021. Honourable Akande listened attentively, assuring the community of his administration’s commitment to addressing their concerns and supporting their development.
The visit marked a significant step in fostering a strong relationship between the Apata Ganga Community and the Ibadan South West Local Government, with both parties expressing their eagerness to work together for the betterment of the community.
