The beginning of this new Islamic year presents an opportunity for reflection and rededication to the pursuit of goodness and righteousness. Let us continue to work together to build a better community for all.

As the Muslim community commemorates the start of the new Islamic year, 1446 AH, Honourable Kehinde Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, has encouraged Muslims in his jurisdiction to persist in their quest for virtue and righteousness.

In his Hijrah message, Honourable Akande emphasized the importance of emulating the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) migration from Mecca to Medina, which symbolizes the quest for a better life and a commitment to righteousness.

He encouraged Muslims to strive for excellence in all aspects of life, promote peace, love, and harmony, and work together for the betterment of their community.

Akande praised the contributions of Muslims in Ibadan South West LG to the development of the area and urged them to continue their good deeds, noting that the local government is committed to supporting their efforts.

“The Hijrah represents a new beginning, a chance to reflect and rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of goodness and righteousness. Let us continue to work together to build a better community for all,” he said.
