It was a gathering of eminent personalities on Saturday 24th August at the Space Lounge and Bar Ring Road Ibadan, venue of Happy People Magazine 10th Anniversary and Award Night.
The event, which was attended by many prominent personalities across public and private sectors including serving honourable members in the Oyo State House of Assembly, was fun-filled.
Speaking at the event, the Publisher of the magazine, Oludotun Ajibola, appreciated the support and efforts of those who have been supporting the brand in the last 10 years.
He noted that Happy People Magazine came up with the award in order to appreciate people who have contributed positively to the society and the people, who have been supportive to the brand in the last 10 years.
Hon. (Engr) Abiodun Babalola, a serving member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, in his opening remarks, lauded Happy People Magazine for its contributions in the society.
The lawmaker narrated how the journey of Happy People Magazine started ten years ago, revealing how the Publisher came to him to discuss the dream. He thanked God for being part of the dream that became a reality.
Hon. Babalola described Oludotun Ajibola as a forward looking young man, who he said he is always open to support people at any given chance.
He, therefore, prayed for the magazine outfit to continue to record greater things, while wishing the publisher a prosperous birthday on the occasion of his 40th birthday anniversary.
Another member of the Oyo State House Of Assembly, Hon.Olayinka Omikunle, in his reaction, appreciated the publisher of the magazine for the award, while he charged him and his team to stay focused in the course of their campaign against child.
Omikunle, who appreciated the celebrants for his efforts in propagating his work within his constituency, said that he sincerely appreciate him for his sacrifice and love towards him
He welcomed the Publisher to the 4th floor of his life while he prayed to almighty God to bless him with long life and prosperity.
Hon. Omikunle, who noted that the award bestowed on him is an attestation that whatever we are doing, people are watching. He promised to continue doing his best for his constituents and Oyo State at large.
In his remarks after receiving the award, Hon. Fowokanmi Adebayo, a ranking member in the Oyo State House of Assembly, applauded the media outfit for organising one of the most fair and credible awards in the city of Ibadan.
The Chairman House Committee on Tertiary Education and the CEO, Betterlife Investment Nigeria Limited said he was thrilled by the coordination of the organiser, as they are tactically organised by picking their awardees from all works of life.
Also, in his message at the event, a renowned philanthropist and Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan land, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa, expressed his happiness to associate with the vision of Happy People Magazine.
The founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation was a strong supporter of Happy People Magazine and one of the major sponsors of ‘Walk Against Child Abuse’ held in the 2019, a pet project of the magazine.
Engr. Babatunde Azeez congratulated Mr. Oludotun Ajibola, describing him as a very active guy right from his secondary school days at the prestigious Ibadan Grammar school.
He welcomed him to the fourth floor of his life, while praying to the almighty God to continue to bless him with the desire of his life.
Speaking at the event via zoom, Prince Adekanmi Adeyemo, CEO Space Lounge and Bar said he is very excited to celebrate with his childhood friend, as he joined the leagues of 40’s, he, therefore, prayed to almighty lord to bless the celebrant and his family.
The Publisher of Parrot Xtra Media Network and Chief Host of the event, Ambassador Olayinka Agboola, congratulated his trainee on his achievement, also appreciated him for making him proud.
The veteran journalist, therefore, charged him not to relent in his quest in fighting against child abuse in our society.
The Mother of the day and a wife of a member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Yeye Bolaji Omikunle, appreciated Happy People Magazine for the wonderful works it is doing over the years.
While charging the youth to take after the celebrants, she described him as a truthful man, who always loves to add value to his environment.
