Oyo State Forum Of LG Special Assistants Honours Agboworin With Human Capacity Development Award
The member representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in the House of Representatives, has commended the Forum of Local Government Special Assistants (FOLGSA), Oyo State chapter, for honoring Governor Seyi Makinde on his upcoming 57th birthday.
Agboworin, a two term lawmaker and the Chairman House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, gave the commendation at the celebration and unveiling of Governor Makinde’s 57th birthday exercise books for secondary school students in Oyo State, held at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The lawmaker, who was the chairman of the occasion and represented by the Executive Assistant on Sports Development to Oyo State Governor and a PDP stakeholder in Ibadan North local government, Engr. Akin Akinleye (Lord Engine), praised the special assistants for their unity and strength of purpose.
He stated that the Forum has made history in less than six months of their appointment, coming up with such impressive programme aimed at promoting the governor of the state.
During the celebration, which included the unveiling of ‘GSM 57th birthday exercise books’ and distributing them to secondary school students, Agboworin noted that the gesture will go a long way in helping parents who cannot afford it for their wards.
He said: “We all know that Agboworin is always passionate about anything or any event that has to do with the governor.
“This is the first of his kind. I need to appreciate the fact that you came up with this event less than 6 months of your appointment. This shows you are all united and know what you are doing as special assistants.
“I can tell you that you have all made the forthcoming birthday of our dear governor to be unique, though 57 is not a unique number.
“The fact that you have chosen this historic building to host this event, you have made history in an historian place.”
Agboworin, while also appreciating their gesture of distributing ‘GSM exercise books’ for secondary school students in the state, the lawmaker lauded their selfless service to the state, noting that their efforts will not go unnoticed.
He encouraged them to continue working together for the betterment of Oyo State.
In a show of his support, Agboworin donated N500,000 to the Forum as a result of the brilliant initiative behind promoting the governor of the state.
Similarly, Agboworin was awarded in recognition of his outstanding service to humanity, unwavering commitment to human capacity development and tireless dedication to the growth of Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
