Oyo Lawmaker Mabaje Praises Governor Seyi Makinde After Completing Leadership Program at George Washington University

The Honourable representing Ido Local Government in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Razaq Mabaje, has expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, for the opportunity to attend the Legislative Leadership and Management Program at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

Hon. Mabaje described Governor Makinde’s leadership as visionary and deeply committed to human capacity development—an approach that continues to make Oyo State a shining model of progressive, people-focused governance.

According to him, the program was truly transformative, equipping him with advanced knowledge in legislative drafting, budget analysis, policy formulation, and effective constituency engagement. He noted that the exposure to global best practices and practical governance tools has strengthened his resolve to serve the people of Ido Local Government with renewed passion, efficiency, and purpose.

> “I return home with a reinvigorated commitment to improving legislative representation—particularly in the areas of economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Moving forward, I will implement structured town hall meetings, introduce digital feedback platforms, and initiate sector-based dialogues to ensure deeper inclusiveness. With enhanced competence in budget analysis, I am better prepared to advocate for key developmental projects and ensure our constituency receives its rightful share of government interventions.”

Hon. Mabaje added that beyond his constituency, he remains dedicated to strengthening the Oyo State House of Assembly and supporting Governor Makinde’s broader development agenda.
