Gratitude to the Governor Seyi Makinde and Commitment to Service: My Experience at George Washington University — Oyo Lawmaker, Hon. Razaq Mabaje

I express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for granting me the opportunity to attend the Legislative Leadership and Management Program at George Washington University. Your visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to capacity building continue to inspire many of us, making Oyo State a shining model of progressive and people-centered governance.

My experience at the program was truly transformative. It equipped me with advanced knowledge in legislative drafting, budget analysis, policy formulation, and effective constituency engagement. I was exposed to global best practices and practical tools for tackling real-world governance challenges. This training has further sharpened my skills and strengthened my resolve to serve the good people of Ido Local Government with renewed efficiency and purpose.

> I return home with a reinvigorated commitment to improving legislative representation—particularly in the areas of economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Moving forward, I will implement structured town hall meetings, introduce digital feedback platforms, and initiate sector-based dialogues to ensure deeper inclusiveness. With enhanced competence in budget analysis, I am better prepared to advocate for key developmental projects and ensure our constituency receives its rightful share of government interventions.

> Beyond my immediate constituency, I remain dedicated to strengthening the Oyo State House of Assembly and supporting His Excellency’s broader development agenda. I will continue to promote fiscal responsibility, policy innovation, and constructive inter-governmental collaboration—values essential for sustainable growth and enhanced quality of life for all. I also pledge to share the knowledge acquired with colleagues, contributing to a more robust and effective legislative institution.

To the people of Ido Local Government, thank you for your enduring trust. I encourage you to hold me accountable as we work together to achieve greater progress.
