- Governor Makinde Charges Corps Members to Embrace Service with Passion
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has urged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to approach their service year with passion and dedication. He gave this charge at the closing ceremony of the 2024 NYSC Batch B (Stream 2) orientation course in Iseyin.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of serving with purpose and making a positive impact in their host communities. He encouraged the corps members to embrace the opportunities presented by the NYSC programme and to uphold the values of discipline, hard work, and selflessness.
The Governor’s message resonated with the corps members, who have completed their three-week orientation and are now ready to embark on their service year. With a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm, they are set to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the Aseyi of Iseyin, NYSC South West Zonal Officer, and Iseyin LGA Chairman, who all praised the governor’s commitment to the welfare and development of youth in Oyo State.
As the corps members disperse to their various service locations, they carry with them the governor’s charge to serve with passion and make a lasting impact in their host communities. With dedication and hard work, they are poised to write a new chapter in the history of the NYSC programme in Oyo State.
The ceremony marked the end of the orientation course for the 2024 NYSC Batch B (Stream 2) corps members, and I am confident that they are now well-equipped to embark on their service year with enthusiasm and dedication.
