The wife of the Executive Chairman of Ido local government area, Mrs Ifedolapo Kafayat Adeojo, has lent her voice to the calls to put an end to Gender Violence in the society.

The wife of the council boss in alignment with Her Excellency’ call, the wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, for the outright stoppage of violence and abuse of women and girls, took to the major roads and markets within the council area to intensify the campaign.

Mrs. Ifedolapo Kafayat Adeojo, in the course of the campaign, said the purpose of the campaign is to create a safer community for women and girls.

She appealed to those in habits of maltreating the weaker sex and others who outrightly abuse and rape women to stop the act because it affects the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of such women.

Mrs. Adeojo and other women in the local government, after the official flag-off in the local government Secretariat, took to the streets and markets in Ido local government jurisdiction in the Walk Against Abuse of Women and Girls.

The chairperson encouraged women to make their voices count by reporting any forms of abuse to law enforcement agencies; she said this would allow the culprit to be booked and serve as a deterrent to others who may wish to indulge in the act.
