Former Deputy Governor and PDP Chieftain in Oyo State, His Excellency Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi, on Saturday, dismissed a report claiming he alongside some leaders in the state was planning defection to the African Democratic Congress.

In a Saturday statement signed by his spokesperson Olaniyi Stephen, and released to Pressmen in Ibadan, Gbolarumi described the speculation as “a calculated attempt by those afraid of the current relationship between him and Oyo State governor Engr Seyi Makinde which is creating unrest and confusion in their Camp
Gbolarumi, who described the report as false and misleading, described it as “nothing but another tissue of lies from the camp of some disgruntled elements in the state.

“But, keeping quiet in the midst of such a bare-faced falsehood would amount to a disservice to the good people of the state, some of who could be hoodwinked into believing the misleading report.”

Gbolarumi stated, “For the avoidance of doubt, His Excellency Barrister Hazeem Gbolarumi was the one who led the Campaign on just concluded the Federal House of Representative election that gave the PDP victory in Ibadan North. Not only that but also, member of One of the Committee in coming PDP National Convention
Gbolarumi mentioned in the report remain firmly rooted in the People Democratic Party and have no link, neither have any plan whatsoever to join the ADC.
