The lawmaker representing Ido Local Government Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Rasaq Mabaje, has congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as Don, on his victory in the recently concluded Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election.
Mabaje, who serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Security, Trade, and Investment, described Oyekunle’s emergence on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as both a resounding victory for the party and a testament to the confidence of the people of Ibadan North in the PDP’s progressive leadership.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday, Mabaje also lauded the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that his unwavering commitment, political guidance, and grassroots appeal were instrumental in securing the party’s success at the polls.
> “I heartily congratulate Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle ‘Don’ on this well-deserved victory. The people of Ibadan North have spoken with their votes, reaffirming their trust in the PDP. I also deeply appreciate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for his tireless efforts and leadership, which continue to strengthen our party and inspire confidence among the electorate,” Mabaje said.
He urged the newly elected lawmaker to justify the mandate given to him by ensuring quality representation, prioritising youth empowerment, and initiating developmental projects that will uplift the lives of his constituents.
Mabaje further commended PDP members across the constituency for their loyalty and steadfastness, charging them to remain united and committed to the continued growth of the party in Oyo State.
He added that Oyekunle’s victory should serve as a source of encouragement to PDP members across the state, particularly in Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency, where the party remains strong, united, and poised to replicate similar successes in future elections.
