As part of the activities marking his four years in office, Honourable Kehinde Akande, Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government Area, alongside his Vice, Honourable Tajudeen Adigun, led a delegation of political leaders, community leaders, local government staff, and notable residents to commission several key projects.

The commissioned projects included boreholes and streetlights across various locations in the local government area. These projects aim to improve access to clean water and enhance security, ultimately contributing to the overall quality of life for residents.
Also, in a significant milestone marking his fourth year in office, Honourable Kehinde Akande, the Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government Area, gave cash award aimed at improving the lives of aged persons in his community. The initiative, spearheaded by the Honourable Kehinde Akande is designed to provide support and enhance the well-being of elderly citizens in the local government area.

The empowerment program was held at the Ibadan South West Local Government Secretariat, where aged persons from various wards within the local government area were beneficiaries of the program .


Speaking at the event, Honourable Kehinde Akande expressed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the aged, emphasizing that they are a vital part of the society who deserve respect, care, and support. “As we mark my fourth year in office, it is imperative that we continue to prioritize the needs of our elderly citizens. The empowerment projects initiated by my commission are a testament to our dedication to ensuring that every individual, regardless of age, has the opportunity to thrive,” Honourable Akande stated.

The political leaders in the local government, Oloye Nureni Akanni, Alhaja Bose Adedibu, Honourable Oyetunji, Honourable Baruwa, and all political apoiintees in the counci highlighted the importance of addressing the unique needs of the aged, focusing on their health, economic empowerment, and social inclusion. They commended the chairman and his vice Honourable Tajudeen Adigun for the good work they have done in the council for the last four years.
The Chairman assured that the council under his leadership would continue to work tirelessly to identify and address the needs of the aged across the local government area, ensuring that they are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
