A non governmental organisation, TOOL Community Development Initiatives, has distributed food items to over 1000 people drawn from various towns in Ibarapa zone of Oyo State.
The beneficiaries comprising widows, less privileged, orphanages, people with disabilities and others.
Titilope Oguntade Oladele Community Development Initiatives on Monday, distributed food items, sewing machines, deep freezers, hair dryers, grinding machines and POS Terminals, at the annual Christmas Outreach program of the organization.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the President of TOOL Initiatives, Mrs Titilope Oguntade Oladele said the gesture was aimed at touching the lives of the less privileged in the society during the yuletide season.
“I am not doing this program to contest for any position or to join politics, I don’t belong to any political party and I don’t have any interest in political positions, what I am doing is borne out of my love for the community, I know where I am coming from and that’s the reason why I took it upon myself to put smile on the people’s faces from what God has given me.
“It’s not that I am rich, we have so many people in this community who are richer than me,
if we can have more people who are doing this kind of program, our community will grow better.
The Initiatives’ President revealed that it is her firm determination to continue on her activities in lending a helping hand to indigent people in the society by ensuring youths, widows, less privileged and people with disabilities are adequately empowered to cater for their responsibilities.
