FG’s Cash Transfer: ‘Agboworin Is Always Responsive To Yearnings Of The Masses’ — Group Commends Lawmaker’s Motion

A social-political group based in Ibadan, The Reformers’ Club (TRC), on Thursday, commended the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency of Oyo State, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, for his motion to expedite the payment of N50,000 each to beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Household Uplifting Programme, which targets the poor and vulnerable individuals across the country.

The group, in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Alhaji Usman Aderibigbe, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, noted that the move by the lawmaker, which is aimed at expediting the payments, demonstrates his strong commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the masses at large.

While saying that Agboworin has been very consistent in his efforts to support the vulnerable ones, the group maintained that the lawmaker’s motion portrays him as a politician with human face.

According to the group, Agboworin has been remarkably outstanding in being passionate about the well-being of his constituents, having organised series of his empowerment programmes, secured employment opportunities and other strategic interventions.

The statement read, “The move by Agboworin’s motion to expedite the payment of the FG’s N50,000 to vulnerable individuals is a clear demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

“As a Group, we commend for his tireless efforts to supporting what concerns the masses more as we know this is a very rare gesture by politicians in the country. We know that Agboworin has distinguished himself and this motion is a welcome development.

“So far, we can say that his dedication to the well-being of his constituents is evident in his actions and achievements. We are grateful for his selfless service. His responsiveness to the needs of his people is commendable.

“Agboworin has facilitated various empowerment programmes including agro-mechanized agric business training and empowerment for over hundreds of youths and women in his constituency.

“We applaud him because we see this as a step in the right direction.“

The House, following the motion moved by the lawmaker during plenary session on Wednesday, adopted it and instituted an Ad-hoc committee to investigate the delay in the payments and report back in the next four weeks.
