Explosion: Oyo Turaki Adini, Mogaji Adanla sues for synergy between Gov’t, Citizens against ‘Illegal Miners’

The Turaki Adini of Oyo State, Engr Abduljelyl Adekunle Karheem, Mogaji Adanla has sued for synergy between Oyo State Government and citizens in fighting against illegal miners in the state.

Adanla made the call on Wednesday while commiserating with the people affected directly and indirectly by the Tuesday’s tragic events.

According to him, the Oyo state government needs to tighten the noose on illegal miners who are corruptly enriching themselves through fraudulent activities and endangering the lives of citizens.

The Turaki Adini said a lot of this illegal miners are among us, stressing that some of them even own their own houses to give them the highest level of secrecy.

He insisted that their fraudulent activities has attained a national emergency status that requires a collaborative strategy involving the government and  citizens.

Adanla, who is the C. E.O Afia Construction and Building Engineering, however urged the good people of Oyo State to be vigilant in their vicinity and always report any suspected activities to the government within their areas.

He said: “I commiserate with the Oyo state government and the people affected directly and indirectly by the Tuesday’s tragic events.

“With this unusual occurrence, we all need to be vigilant in our vicinity and alway report any suspected activities to the government, a lot of this illegal miners lives among us, some of them even own their own houses to give them the highest level of secrecy.

“We all know them but fail to alert the authorities, this accident should serve as a wake up call for us all.

“So, I am encouraging us once again to stay vigilant and follow the guidance of His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde, law enforcement and state officials for the safety of the community and Ibadan residents.”

The Turaki Adini equally advised the government to register migrant in the society noting that it will put some control measure in place.
