A wave of spiritual energy and political symbolism swept through the city of Jos as former presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, visited the Plateau State Government House in a powerful display of unity and purpose, just as the highly anticipated Middle Belt Worship Convention kicked off.

The convention, hosted by the Covenant Altar of Worship, opened with great enthusiasm, drawing thousands of worshippers, faith leaders, and political heavyweights to the heart of Nigeria’s Middle Belt. At the epicenter of this historic convergence was a high-profile meeting between Dr. Hashim and the Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Caleb Muftwang.

Dr. Hashim, widely regarded as a bridge-builder and national advocate for peace and development, led a distinguished delegation comprising Dr. Chris Hassan, Chairman of the Plateau State PDP; former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Simon Mwadkwon; Senator Napoleon Bali; Hon. Natip Padur, Deputy Chairman of Wase LGA; Mr. Ezekiel Dumfa, former Youth Leader of CAN Plateau; and Mr. Dan Qada, Special Adviser on Middle Belt and Ethnic Nationalities.

The atmosphere was charged with hope as Dr. Hashim delivered a heartfelt prayer for the return of lasting peace to Plateau, declaring, “Plateau shall rise again, and once more become the shining jewel of hospitality and agriculture in Nigeria.”

In a poignant moment, he also extended his condolences to families who lost loved ones in recent attacks across the state, pledging continued support for healing, justice, and reconciliation.

Governor Muftwang, who had recently received Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God—welcomed Dr. Hashim’s visit with warmth, describing it as timely and deeply symbolic. He commended Hashim for his consistent voice for unity and for choosing to stand with Plateau during its journey toward recovery.

Also present at the meeting were key government officials including Secretary to the State Government Hon. Samuel Jatau, Chief of Staff Hon. Jerry Satmark, and Hon. Yari Kumchi. The engagement ended with a private closed door meeting between Governor Muftwan and Dr. Hashim.

As prayers, leadership, and purpose align in Jos, the Middle Belt once again becomes the stage where the embers of revival, peace, and national healing are being rekindled.
